Consolidated Properties consolidates its expansion

Brisbane based property developer Consolidated Properties is embarking on a national expansion, with three new senior hires, new projects in the pipeline and new offices to be opened in Sydney and Melbourne in the next 18 months.

Executive Chairman Don O’Rorke says now is the right time to expand.

“We have an excellent track record and great relationships with our clients and joint venture partners.  There is a lot of opportunity in the market for us right now and we are taking that opportunity with both hands,” he said.

Prominent property industry executive Mike Yates has joined Consolidated Properties as Head of Delivery for the residential business, with Head of Residential, Lachlan Grantley, focusing on new business and overseeing the expansion into southern states.

Mike Yates draws on decades of experience delivering large scale projects across Australia and internationally, having held the post of State Director of Cadence Australia, with previous positions including National Head of Infrastructure for Savills and Senior Development Manager for Sun International in South Africa and the Indian Ocean.  He will oversee the delivery of $1.4 billion of projects currently on the ground including Yeerongpilly Green and Cornerstone Living, utilising his extensive experience with landmark projects encompassing international hotels, casinos and resorts, convention centres and major residential, commercial and retail projects around the world.

Mr Yates said: “I’ve worked with Consolidated Properties as a consultant on previous projects and admire the entrepreneurial, dynamic and collaborative DNA of the company. I’m very excited to be joining them during this period of rapid growth.  The company is well positioned for the future with fantastic client relationships and a highly focused development team.”

Two Senior Development Managers have also joined the commercial and retail team to expand the delivery capability, under the leadership of Kieran Cox, Head of Commercial and Retail.  Ben Finemore is responsible for the strategic development and delivery of the $500 million retail partnership with CVS Lane over the coming years. Ben has 17 years of experience in the property industry in Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales across various market sectors. Ben has previously held roles with Lend Lease and most recently with Coles Supermarkets where he was the Queensland State Construction Manager and State Feasibility Development Manager. Ben will deliver two new shopping centres which are currently under construction while supporting the team with their new acquisitions and the management of the current portfolio.

Tim Brosnan is an experienced construction project and development manager with over 15 year’s industry experience and joins Consolidated Properties from CBRE where he held the position of Associate Director. During his professional career Tim has managed and delivered projects of all types and scale from luxury villas to high-rise apartments, retail and shopping centres to specialist commercial buildings and large scale fit out projects. Tim is responsible for delivering the retail and commercial precinct at Yeerongpilly Green.  This major urban renewal project includes a new supermarket, restaurants and entertainment precinct within the village, in addition to the first of the office buildings, as part of the initial stage of the development.

Mr O’Rorke said, “We are delighted to expand the team with people who are highly skilled and recognised in their fields of expertise.  We look forward to extending our range of projects with current partners and developing new relationships.”
